POWWR Launches AI-Powered LOA Validation Module to Cut Risk and Accelerate Energy Sales

AI-powered module automatically reads, validates and verifies Letters of Authority, giving suppliers earlier confirmation of customer authority and a consistent decision trail

[Manchester, 15 September 2026] – POWWR, an energy software provider, today launches its Letter of Authority (LOA) Validation Module. An AI-powered service that automatically reads, validates and verifies LOAs. By confirming customer authority at the appropriate point in the workflow, the module helps suppliers accelerate opportunities while reducing manual effort and compliance risk.

Manual LOA reviews add significant operational overhead to the sales process, increasing both processing time and the cost of every opportunity. Because checking every document by hand is resource-intensive, many suppliers review only a sample, leaving unchecked LOAs as a material compliance risk.

Manual checks are also inherently inconsistent. The same LOA can be assessed differently depending on the reviewer, and errors are easier to miss at volume. Without a standard process for extracting, validating and reusing LOA data, those inconsistencies can also create downstream issues.

“Letters of Authority are critical at the start of every sales opportunity, but today’s manual process forces suppliers into a trade-off between risk and cost,” says Jo Hannaford, product director at POWWR. “Cost pressures are increasingly forcing suppliers to cut corners. Yet, failing to validate every LOA exposes the business to compliance issues and significant legal risk.”

POWWR’s LOA Validation Module automatically extracts customer and third-party details, the signatory’s name and position, dates, stated duration, scope of authority and credit-check consent from PDF, Word, JPEG or PNG uploads. It also supports multi-document submissions, such as e-signed LOAs accompanied by a Certificate of Completion. Each submission is then assessed against a central rule set configured by the supplier.

The module returns a clear outcome of ‘accept’, ‘decline’ or ‘refer’, together with the specific rules triggered, providing transparency throughout the supply chain. Users with the appropriate access controls can override an outcome and attach supporting evidence. Every automated or manual status change is logged, including who made it, when it was made and why.[

Every uploaded LOA and its full validation history are securely stored within the POWWR platform, giving compliance teams a retrievable record for audit purposes. Verified LOAs can also be exported and pushed into third-party CRM systems where a supplier or broker needs the document to live alongside the rest of their sales record.

“POWWR’s LOA Validation Module closes the risk-vs-cost gap, reduces compliance and legal risk, and removes human error. This cuts rework, provides auditability, and accelerates tender progression,” adds Hannaford. “Plus, because every supplier uses the same rule engine, onboarding a new supplier requires rule configuration rather than new infrastructure.”
