For Business & For Business Renewable

For Business Tariffs have now replaced our Fixed Price Tariffs. All tariffs are priced to account for a number of different costs of providing energy to consumers including the wholesale cost of energy, network costs, operating costs, environmental/social obligation costs etc.

  • The charges for our new For Business tariffs consist of two parts:
    • The first part is a fixed price, the majority of which is for the energy we supply, so this protects customers from rising wholesale energy costs
    • The second part is the variable costs, which are linked to external industry charges such as network, social and environmental obligation costs that may increase or decrease throughout the tariff term impacting both standing charges and unit rates. This means the customer’s price could go up as well as down during the tariff term
  • Appx 85% of the price is the wholesale element and therefore not subject to any review. The latest movement on the variable costs (broken down) can be checked via the link below. This breakdown will not be itemised on the bills

Multi-Site contracts – Scottish Power Portal allows 25 meters on one contract

Variable costs: Network companies charge Scottish Power for the use of the gas pipes and electricity cables across Britain to supply energy to your home or business. This is set by Ofgem, the energy regulator, and covers the maintenance, running and upgrading costs of the network.

Variable costs: Larger energy suppliers must help pay for network, environmental and social (ESO) government energy policies such as energy efficiency improvements in homes and business, help for vulnerable customers and green energy policies. These are policies are set by the UK Government.
