SME Business Development Manager

Role Overview

POWWR are seeking a Business Development Manager to aid in the management and growth of its brokerage portfolio within its sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone already experienced within the energy brokerage arena, now looking to advance and make a real difference within a fast moving and competitive area.

POWWR provides advanced platforms and simple solutions for over 45 energy suppliers and more than 1,600 brokers. It empowers energy suppliers and brokers to grow their businesses and create a transparent, connected journey. The company was previously known as UD Group.

Role Overview

In this role you will work with our internal teams, our energy supply partners and our energy brokers, bringing a motivated, timely and dedicated approach to ensure that POWWR is seen as the number one ‘go to’ business for software and brokerage requirements.

    • Onboarding of new customers (brokers) to ensure a smooth transition from initial sale to having them able & ready to utilise our systems.
    • Manage the portfolio effectively in order to hit demanding targets for both software and brokerage sales.
    • Liaise with our customers and training team to ensure new and existing clients are fully trained and able to use the system, highlighting gaps and suggesting improvements where needed.
    • Work closely with brokers to ensure they are utilising the system to the volumes expected, highlighting any issues or concerns.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with our customers, as a reliable and trusted point of contact, to further cement the relationship and aid in successful renewal outcomes to reduce customer churn.
    • Identify opportunities for growth within the data to further aid the business achieve on its revenue targets.
    • Lead regular cadence catch ups with the broker portfolio.
    • Work alongside our Success, Product and Compliance teams to ensure timely and accurate interactions with our customers, to further enhance our customer service offering.
    • Provide general administrative support for the sales team, providing reporting on sales figures, customer contracts, customer queries and renewal status.
What are POWWR looking for?
  • 3+ years of working within the energy sector
  • Time spent working within an energy supply company or energy brokerage
  • Experience working in business development or account management roles, so able to demonstrate an ability to manage relationships at all levels between businesses

You'll be highly motivated, eager to learn new skills, adept at problem solving and keen to work in a growing company. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential as you will be required to interact closely with internal and external stakeholders daily.
