Background to Requirement

POWWR is at an incredibly exciting time in its evolution and due to the growth targets of the Company,  we are seeking a Finance Assistant to assist in the smooth operations of the Finance team.


Summary of Requirements

The Finance Assistant provide an accurate and timely financial service including assisting the Financial Controller in setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, invoicing, expenses analysis and reconciliation support to inform decision making at all levels of POWWR.


Role & Responsibilities

The day-to-day responsibilities are all aspects of administrative support to the Financial Controller and include:

  • Assist Financial Controller in preparing P&L, Balance Sheet & Management Accounts for POWWR for review by the SMT.
  • To assist the Financial Controller in ensuring that budgets and management accounts accurately reflect the business activity, that accruals and other adjustments are being made correctly, that variances from budget and other issues are investigated and resolved.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets alongside the Financial Controller, in-conjunction with department heads. Providing detailed breakdown of previous spend & ongoing contracts where necessary.
  • Ensuring that all supporting schedules are correct & up to date in line with the relevant deadlines (i.e. prepayments, fixed assets, control accounts).
  • To prepare the monthly journals for review to be posted into the general ledger. Separating the journals into the relevant categories where necessary.
  • Produce any commission statements and reports within agreed timescales.
  • Prepare daily cash-flow forecasts, reconciling the bank on the accounting systems and receipting all payments in and informing Finance Controller of payments to be made out.
  • Credit control duties to ensure that the relevant credit control process is completed for non-payers.
  • To assist in the annual audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors to ensure statutory accounts are produced within the required deadlines.

  • Experience of working in a high growth, private equity backed technology business.
  • Attention to detail and working to tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of how each accounting schedule works in line with the relevant accounting principles.
  • Understanding of the Balance Sheet and the relevant accounting principles.
  • Understanding of the relevant journals & why they are being posted.
  • Attention to detail and working to tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, knowledge of excel & the accounting system.
  • Understanding the credit control process and the impact that non-payment of invoices has on the company’s Working Capital.
  • An understanding of the Audit process.
  • IT literate in the use of Microsoft applications, including excellent MS-Excel skills and experience of using multiple accounting software solutions.


Skills & Experiences

As least 2 years’ experience is required in a generalist Finance role and as a minimum a recognized professional Finance qualification.


Location and package

This role will be based is US based with a preference for East Coast location.  Remote working is in place with occasional travel to the Connecticut head office or other locations as required. Package will consist of competitive base salary and performance related bonus.
